Argon coagulation is a monopolar coagulation procedure in which the emitted argon gas is ionised by the high-frequency current and applied to the tissue surface. This results in non-contact coagulation with a haemostatic effect on the tissue.
Argon coagulation has already proven its worth excellently in gastroenterology among other fields. The advantages of argon coagulation are:
- Excellent view of the operation site (no smoke development, dry site)
- Shorter healing periods thanks to a thin, very flexible, but durable scab
