The Söring UAW portfolio
The low-frequency ultrasound for wound treatment is generated in the Sonica control device. An irrigation fluid (saline solution) is required for the transmission of the vibrations and the therapeutic effect of the ultrasound. The handpieces, which are activated via a footswitch and equipped with different sonotrodes, feature internal irrigation to allow application of the fluid to the wound surface. The fluid also serves to flush out the detached necrotic components and can also be combined with an antiseptic for infected wounds. (omit, for example).
For the actual wound treatment, Söring offers a large selection of suitable handpieces specially coordinated to the respective type of wound and site.
The sonotrodes:
The use of the different sonotrodes is dependent on the condition and site of the wound (omit ,) but can also vary from therapist to therapist. The following recommendation is provided for orientation:
Wound cavities i.e. decubitus
Use of the double ball and/or spatula sonotrode – allows the introduction in deep wounds and wound pockets.
Superficial wounds
Use of horseshoe and/or spatula sonotrode – allows surface mode.
Large-scale treatments
Use of horseshoe sonotrode – allows the treatment of large-scale infections via the large contact surface of the sonotrode.
Wound clefts, such as spaces between toes
Use of the spatula sonotrode – allows thorough debridement of wound areas that are difficult to access.
